Finbarr was admitted as a member of the ACCA in 1988 and as a fellow in 1993.. He has been a self employed accountant since 1990.  Currently Finbarr is Director of Accountants with Buckley Scriven O’Regan which employs 20 staff.

He served as Director of The Port of Cork from 2002 to 2012 and is the Vice Chairman of St Finbars Hurling and Football Club.
